Corporate Incubator

For a sensor OEM in the process industry, we set up a venture unit to develop new technologies and business areas outside the existing core business.

The aim of the project was to design and hand over a turnkey concept for an incubator. This is intended to systematically drive forward the parent company's core business through radical and disruptive innovations, as opposed to conventional incremental development in research and development.

Our consultants recorded the current process landscape for the development of innovations and defined the focal points for the design. We then analyzed and defined the strategic direction. Based on this, our experts were able to derive recommendations for the design of processes, methods, team and organizational structures.

Our experts have developed a holistic incubator concept for the company, which classifies and defines the strategic orientation in a holistic target picture.

In addition to the definition of internal and external interfaces, this included the organization and governance as well as the team structure with the necessary competence profiles. For the start of the project, we also developed a concept for the spatial and infrastructural equipment of the incubator and planned the gradual start-up phase of the venturing activities.
